Privacy Policy — Ankor

Last updated: 28 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Ankor mobile application ("Ankor", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles your information. Ankor is operated by Naman Joshi, an individual developer based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

By using Ankor, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The short version

Ankor is built to be private by design. Almost everything you do in Ankor — your journals, gratitude entries, routine logs, check-ins, streaks, and other personal reflections — is stored only on your own device. We do not upload it to our servers, we cannot read it, and we do not collect analytics about how you use the app.

The only personal information that leaves your device is the basic account information used to sign you in (see Section 3), and information handled by third parties when you use certain optional features (see Section 5).

2. Information stored on your device (not collected by us)

When you use Ankor, you may create and save content such as:

All of this is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to us or to any server we control. We have no access to it. If you delete the app, this data is removed from your device (so consider using the in-app backup/export feature first if you want to keep it).

Backups

Ankor lets you manually export your data as a file (a local backup) and import it again. These backup files stay on your device or wherever you choose to save them. We do not receive or store them.

3. Account information (sign-in)

Ankor uses Google Sign-In (via Google Firebase Authentication) to let you sign in. When you sign in, we receive basic account information such as your name and email address, used only to identify your account and enable sign-in.

Google's handling of this information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

4. What we do NOT collect

To be clear, Ankor does not:

We do not run any analytics or tracking SDKs in Ankor.

5. Third-party services

Some optional features rely on third-party services. When you use them, those third parties may collect information under their own privacy policies:

We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their practices; we encourage you to review their policies.

6. Notifications

Ankor can send you local reminders and notifications (for example, routine reminders or gentle check-ins) from your device. You can turn these on or off in the app and in your device settings. These are generated on your device.

7. Children and age requirements

Ankor is not intended for children under 16.

If you believe someone under 16 is using Ankor, please contact us so we can address it.

8. Health, wellness, and sensitive topics

Ankor offers self-reflection tools and general wellness practices, including content related to habits, emotional wellbeing, and addiction support. Ankor is not a medical, psychological, therapeutic, or diagnostic service, and it is not a substitute for professional help. Any information you enter about these topics stays on your device as described above. If you are struggling, please seek help from a qualified professional or, in an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

9. Data security

Because your personal content is stored on your own device, its security depends largely on your device's own protections (such as your screen lock and device encryption). For the limited account information processed through Google/Firebase, we rely on Google's security measures. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices and rights

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated within the app. Continued use of Ankor after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
